Here are 7 junior developer jobs you can apply to.
Plus, you should join our Hiring Hackathons! They're the best way to get hired based mainly on your skillset!
Hey everyone! Summer is blisteringly hot this year, as many of you have noticed. I grabbed some vanilla, fudge, chocolate chunk ice cream from our local drive-through ice cream parlor. Drive-through and ice cream go together like CSS and HTML. So good… Yum! 😋
Mintbean’s hackathons are back, and now they’re all Hiring Hackathons!
OUR HACKATHONS ARE BACK! And now we’ll be sending all submitted projects to hiring managers and recruiters across the industry. This is the best way for you to skip the line and get noticed based on your ACTUAL SKILLS, not just on your resume!
Cool thing I found this week
Github Copilot is so cool! Using AI, it can write whole passages of code for you. I’ve joined the waitlist and am eagerly waiting for my chance to take it for a spin. I’ve heard that there are still some rough edges where the code it generates isn’t quite what the developer intended, but oh well, such is the nature of software. They’ll patch the bugs soon, I’m sure!
Remote + junior jobs of the week
Every week, I’ll be sending everyone a short list of junior jobs that you can apply to immediately. My advice to new developers is to apply to every single job with anywhere between 0 and 3 years of minimum experience.

Things to learn
Beginner: CSS animations, when done right, can make your code look very professional and sophisticated with very little effort. Here’s a great intro tutorial on how to do CSS animations.
Intermediate: Have you seen Promise.allSettled()? It’s a really cool way to handle multiple promises. This can come in handy when doing 10’s or 100’s of api calls in one go — just put all the promises in an array and let Promise.allSettled() do its magic!
Advanced: Designing your code is very important. Here’s how you can write chained interfaces to make your code more readable, fluid to use, and easier to understand.

Motivational job search tip
Rejections are the road to success. A bullet has to fly through a lot of empty air before it hits its target! That’s what rejection is: just hot air. Keep applying and don’t give up. When you were passed over, just remember: you’re one step closer to finding that job of your dreams!
That’s it!
Thanks everyone! I hope y’all have an excellent day, and I hope to see you all soon!
